About Swedbank Shanghai

Meeting with laptops

China is now the world's second-largest economy. During the last few years, a growing number of Swedish customers of Swedbank have strengthened their business relations with counterparts in China.

Many of them have established joint venture companies or subsidiaries in China, and more are on the way to establishing themselves in China.

As a customer-oriented bank, Swedbank followed our customers and established a representative office in Shanghai in 2001. The office was the first Swedish and Nordic bank office in Shanghai. In April 2007, Swedbank obtained a financial license from the China Banking Regulatory Commission and a business license from the State Administration of Industry and Commerce, to open a bank branch in Shanghai.

The Shanghai branch provides Nordic, Baltic and Chinese corporate clients with full lending and deposit-taking services as well as trade finance, treasury, and payment services. The branch also offers local currency business for corporate clients operating in China.

We look forward to helping you with your business in China. To learn more about how we can help your business, contact our Shanghai branch
